The fair is excited that you are registering to participate in the Bill Riley Talent show. The application deadline will be July 19, 2013 for all entrants. Anyone may send in an application, however Johnson County residents will have priority for participation in this year's contest. If there are not enough entrants to fill the schedule from Johnson County, the remaining spots will be open to residents from other counties.
All applicants will be contacted by email confirming their participation in the 2013 Talent Show. Entrants may begin to check in for the Talent Show at 6 p.m. on July 24 in the grey Fairground Offices Building. ALL participants MUST be checked in by 6:30 in order to participate. Anyone not in the building at 6:30 will be scratched from the Talent Show. Social Security Identification must be supplied at the orientation.
Vocalists are strongly encouraged to practice and perform with the assistance of a vocal coach and/or a live accompanist. We understand that live accompanists are expensive, and sometimes very difficult to obtain for some performers. We will allow prerecorded accompaniment with multiple instrumentation. Any prerecorded tape with backing vocals is not allowed, and the act will be disqualified. Please be sure to check ALL the Bill Riley Talent Show rules. Acts will be limited to no more than 3 minutes and points may be deducted for acts going over the time limit. All participants should read the talent show rules Changes have been made. ALL recorded music must be handed to the REGISTRAR at the time of check-in and no later than 6:30PM on the date of the Johnson County talent show. Music arriving late will not be permitted.
