2007 Pork Grill-Off Contest:

1st Place--$75 Pork Gift Certificate given by the Johnson Co. Pork Producers
2nd Place--$50 Pork Gift Certificate given by the Johnson Co. Pork Producers
3rd Place--$25 Pork Gift Certificate given by the Johnson Co. Pork Producers
People’s Choice--$50 Pork Gift Certificate given by the Johnson Co. Pork Producers

Rules: Open to all “AGES”

1.) The entry is to be “PORK”. It can be any combination of pork, cooked with various spices and other ingredients.

2.) A recipe card with recipe, ingredients, name and age must be brought along with your entry.

3.) Entries must grill a minimum to give away 200 samples.

4.) Cooking will start at 3:30 around the variety tent. Tasting will take place from 5:00. Judging will begin at 5:00 with the winners announced at 5:30.

5.) We only are accepting 8 contestants. Please call Chris Cole at # 319-648-5871 to be a contestant.

7.) If you are a contestant, sign-up will take place at 3:30 under the variety tent on Tuesday, July 24th .

8.) Grills and supplies will need to be provided by the contestant. Two 8 ft tables will be provided for each contestant. Grills can be dropped off at the variety tent but the vehicle must then be moved and parked in general parking.

9.) Peoples Choice Award will be based upon the “FAVORITE PORK ENTRY” among the public. (Cups and toothpicks will be made available for tasting purposes.)

10.) Entries will be judged on: “The PORK ENTRY the Judges Like the BEST”
